Retail Sales Associate - Legends at the Chesapeak Energy Arena (Oklahoma City, OK)

The Merchandise Associate reports to the Merchandise Manager and is based out of Chesapeake Energy Arnea, locted in Oklahoma City, OK.

• Create exciting, energetic, positive motivational environment for the fans

• Provide fun, but professional environment for fans and teammates
• Show expertise when selling product
• Sell multiple items in each transaction
• Excellent accuracy when using POS systems
• Demonstrate ownership in maintaining, re-stocking and cleaning daily sections
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to pass a background/drug test
• Must be 18 years or older

• Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds

Parking: Across the street at the Convention Center, or meters located around downtown
Entry: West side of the building at the Team Shop

On Tuesday, September 27th, Legends will be hosting a hiring fair for the Merchandise department at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. We are looking for qualified and enthusiastic Game Day Merchandise Associates to join our Team for the Oklahoma City Thunder's season.

Retail/Merchandise : Retail Management
Director of Merchandising - Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma City Thunder (Oklahoma City, OK)

The Director of Merchandising will provide guests of the Chesapeake Energy Arena with quality merchandise and excellent service by effectively managing all aspects of the merchandise operation, including, but not limited to, purchasing, inventory control, staffing, training, cost controls, accounting procedures and the overall operation of all merchandise locations. The Director of Merchandising will operate out of the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK, and will report to the Regional Merchandising Director.

Essential Job Functions

  • Evaluate and purchase suitable merchandise based on guests’ and clients’ needs
  • Maintain proper inventory levels
  • Develop warehousing plan to assure easy access and accountability of merchandise
  • Develop training programs and train personnel, i.e. guest relations, inventory, cash handling
  • Develop merchandising plan for the Pro Shop
  • Perform period end inventory
  • Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating customer concerns
  • Supervise assigned personnel, hire, terminate, discipline, evaluate performance and develop each employee to his/her potential
  • Recommend and maintain preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of Legends
  • Implement and maintain effective communication with the client and all employees
  • Assist in the development of programs that result in increased customer satisfaction
  • Manage in compliance with established Legends’ policies and procedures
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are in effect at all times

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience and/or training
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be available to work extended hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
